Limosa

A godwits & their allies come the class action of big, long-billed, long-leggy & strongly migratory wading birds. It form big flocks inside coasts & estuaries in wintertime.

It may be distinguished from either a related curlews by their straight or slightly upturned bills, & from either a dowitchers by their longer legs.
